Manufacturing a full line of outpatient catheters for gynecologists. OvaMed Corp.’s GyneSysSystem designed to perform tubal cannulation. GyneSys System’s three catheters work sequentially to diagnose and treat the uterus and fallopian tubes. Use of the GyneSys on an outpatient basis can reduce health care costs and expedite treatment of suspected infertility. Product now approved in Europe.
Additional products also designed to allow many hospital procedures to be performed in physicians’ offices. GynePathbiopsy needles acquire hist-ological specimens of tissue. Can be used for lesions in the breast, uterus and abdomen using ultrasound or CT. OvaMed’s falloposcope and hysteroscope enhance diagnoses during patient visits.
OvaCathtransfer catheter used to treat tubal ectopics, trans-vaginal GIFT and other procedures. New products in development designed to treat ovarian cysts, uterine leiomyomas and to ablate the endometrium non-surgically.
Venture funding from Vanguard Associates III, Venture Fund of Washington, Tredegar Investments, J&J Develpment Corp. and Investment Advisors. President and CEO John N. Zink previously held senior positions at Diasonics, Criticare, Paramed and Beckman.—WL
