Spain reiterates key role of early HIV diagnosis

Around 30% of Spain's estimated 120,000-150,000 cases of HIV infection remain undiagnosed. So says the health ministry, which has used the figures to emphasise the need to sustain detection efforts, citing the important multiple benefits of early diagnosis. "Early diagnosis is currently a priority of my department," said the director-general for public health, Ildefonso Hern�ndez, during a recent conference on the issue.
