Siemens eyes end of 2007 launch for "double clarity" HD (high definition) PET-CT technology

Siemens Medical Solutions expects to officially launch by the end of 2007 its first-of-a-kind high definition (HD) PET-CT technology, which it claims can double image resolution. The HD PET-CT scanner, which Siemens believes represents "a major leap forward on performance for PET-CT scanners", is able to image tumours of down to 2mm in size - the company's previous generation model could image tumour down to 4mm.
