NuVasive says it has settled long-running litigation with Medtronic Sofamor Danek, a much larger rival in the minimally invasive spinal surgery industry. All lawsuits have been dismissed without prejudice and all future expenses have been removed. The companies agreed to keep the terms of the mediated resolution confidential. Medtronic had alleged San Diego-based NuVasive employed former MSD staff and attempted to obtain confidential information, thereby interfering with MSD employment contracts.
