Lifestream Technologies has received US FDA clearance for its "at home" cholesterol testing monitor with embedded smart card. The hand-held device can measure in three minutes a patient's cholesterol level from a single drop of blood. Patients are able to share results of the test with doctors and pharmacists via a smart card which is inserted into the monitor and downloaded, said the Post Falls, Idaho-based company.
