Executive Summary

DynaGen has filed a patent application in the US for the methods and apparatus for sensing and imaging body and instruments during a surgical procedure. The company is stressing the performance of the product, the BioLocator system, in breast biopsy, which will be the initial focus of the company. Some eight million women in the US have a diagnostic evaluation for breast cancer each year; 750,000 will require a biopsy. DynaGen licensed the technology from BioLoc in December 1996 and has worldwide, exclusive rights.
