Cosmetic manufacturers should be excluded from EPA's drug wastewater reg -- CTFA.

This article was originally published in The Rose Sheet

Executive Summary

CTFA REQUESTS COSMETICS EXCLUSION FROM EPA PHARMACEUTICAL WASTEWATER REG in response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's proposed "Effluent Limitations Guidelines, Pretreatment Standards, and New Source Performance Standards: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Category." In Aug. 31 comments, the Cosmetic, Fragrance, and Toiletry Association maintained that the pharmaceutical processing data EPA has compiled to date does not provide "an adequate basis for developing effluent limitations guidelines and standards for the cosmetics manufacturing industry."
