Cancer Prevention Coalition: At a Sept. 21 press event in Washington, D.C., CPC and consumer advocate Ralph Nader released what they said would be the first of an annual "dirty dozen" list of consumer products containing carcinogenic ingredients. The 1995 list, prepared by CPC Chairperson Samuel Epstein, MD, and journalist David Steinman, includes Cover Girl Replenishing Natural Finish makeup, Crest Tarter Control toothpaste, Alberto VO5 conditioner (essence of neutral henna) and Clairol Nice 'n Easy permanent hair color. In a same-day statement, the Advancement of Sound Science Coalition criticized the list, noting that "everything is toxic at some dose." TASSC said that the "tiny exposure humans normally have to the chemicals in these products would pose no risk to human health"...
