RIO HAIR NATURALIZERS REQUIRE FDA SAFETY REVIEW PRIOR TO REINTRODUCTION, according to a Aug. 31 consent decree between FDA and World Rio, manufacturer of Rio Hair Naturalizer System and Rio Hair Naturalizer System with Color Enhancer. Under the decree, World Rio must submit to FDA's Los Angeles office protocols for and results from safety tests before reintroducing " straightener product that contains the same quantitative and/or qualitative composition and formulation" as the Rio hair naturalizers.
