Del Labs: Considering acquisition opportunities in light of its current financial strength, the company announced Feb. 10. Strong year-end results "enable the company to evaluate and move quickly" on future purchases, Del said. Potential acquisition options might include Tsumura International, which announced Jan. 30 it is for sale ("The Rose Sheet" Feb. 9, p. 8). Tsumura markets the prestige Vitabath bath and spa line and a number of licensed children toiletry products. Net sales for Del increased 12.9% in 1997 to $263 mil., and earnings jumped 41.5% to $13.1 mil. Sales were "particularly strong" in its cosmetics business, the company noted.
