Centers for Disease Control & Prevention announces availability of roughly $600,000 in grant funding for fiscal 2002 for applied research aimed at "prevention and control of the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance" in the U.S. Program will focus on validation of national committee for clinical laboratory standards (NCCLS) breakpoints for human pathogens of public health importance, according to June 4 Federal Register notice.
