Mode Cosmetics - which claims to "put the glamour in green" - plans to launch 50 new products in 2008, bringing its portfolio to over 300 SKUs, according to a recent release.

Co-created by sisters Cristina Samuels and Jennifer Isaac, who "grew up completely immersed" in the family cosmetics business Zela International, Mode has concentrated primarily on lips, eyes and nails to date.

The brand now is expanding to skin care and face makeup.

Mode's skin-care range will consists of "fragrance-free nourishing skin moisturizers, crèmes, treatments and serums for the face, eyes, hand and body, all enveloped in uber-luxe recyclable acrylic packaging."

The Mode face and eye make-up collection will comprise "weightless liquid and pressed powder foundations, loose powder mineral foundations, pigment-rich concealers, radiant luminizers, pressed natural eye shadows and blushes, and bronzers," all made with natural, organic and kosher ingredients and offered at a price "that does not break the bank."

The new products will retail for $4.50 to $9 at food, drug and mass retailers and at 1 www.modecosmetics.com.

Featured ingredients include sweet almond, grape seed and avocado oils, natural minerals, pearls and pigments, African shea butter, vitamins and fruit extracts, according to Mode.

"Unlike natural products which are often associated with 'crunchy and granola,' Mode signifies luxury and upscale sensuality through sleek and modern packaging, unique designs and custom formulations," the company says.

Mode products are designed and manufactured in New York and not tested on animals.
