Normon adds to Mucibrón

This article is powered by OTC Bulletin & The Rose Sheet

Spanish generics and consumer healthcare player Normon has grown its Mucibrón range of OTC expectorants in the country with a high-strength, child-friendly oral solution.

Suitable for those aged two years and above, the Mucibrón Forte liquid contained 6mg of the active ingredient ambroxol hydrochloride, the company noted, which acted to alleviate the symptoms of colds, coughs and flu by “reducing the viscosity of mucus and phlegm, facilitating their expulsion from the body”.

Syringe aids dosing

While Mucibrón Forte contained 3mg more ambroxol hydrochloride than its sister product, Mucibrón, Normon pointed out that a syringe included in the packaging allowed parents to “accurately measure small doses” according to the needs of their children.

Furthermore, Mucibrón Forte had a “pleasant taste” of strawberries and raspberries, it added, making it more appealing to children.

While it was a “leader” in Spain’s generics industry, Norman said it wanted to replicate this success at its OTC business.

With “already more than 80 products” in its self-care portfolio and “one of the largest drug manufacturing plants in Europe”, the firm said it was well placed to take a larger slice of the Spanish self-care market.

Established in 2010, Norman’s OTC division also markets in addition to its Mucibrón expectorants a basket of other cold and flu brands in the country, including Normogrip, Acetoncysteine Normon, Closperastin Normon, Normotus and Deratin.
