US CDC cites record immunisation rate, despite measles cases rise

Executive Summary

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) has released its 2007 national survey results, which shows sustained, record levels of immunisation for children. It pointed out, however that "a sobering aspect" of the programme was the number of measles cases in the US reaching its highest level since 1997, and that many of the cases involved children whose parents had rejected vaccination.
