Australian specialists in infectious diseases are urging the government to order a nationwide vaccination campaign against a highly contagious and potentially fatal form of whooping cough. They said an outbreak of the disease has reached epidemic proportions in parts of Australia, reaching a record 14,000 cases reported so far this year.
