The head of the Australian Center For Ancient DNA at the University of Adelaide said ARC changes set to take effect next year could exclude studies on HIV and other viral mutations, as well as epigenetics. The ARC denied its new rules would have that effect, saying new rules governing biomedical research are designed in part to prevent double-dipping.
