The National Advertising Review Board upholds a NAD ruling that the brand should discontinue claims comparing its Plantscription anti-aging serum to anti-wrinkle prescription products. NARB reversed several other NAD decisions on certain claims for the same product.

DERMAdoctor promotes its Photodynamic Therapy as a “liquid red light anti-aging lotion with broad spectrum SPF 30.” NAD says that the firm’s claims of equivalent or superior performance versus red-light devices are unsupported and should be discontinued.

NAD questioned DERMAdoctor claim in print ads that Photodynamic Therapy lotion users “get the same anti-aging red-light treatment without the hassle of cumbersome light gadgets, costly doctor visits or post-procedure downtime.”
