Tensor Biosciences Inc.

Tensor Biosciences has a system that can monitor the neuronal network activity in a slice of the "living brain: tissue for several weeks. The system is useful for early and late stage central nervous system drug discovery. A first-generation system is on the market, and a second generation, higher-throughput system is expected out in 2003. The technology was developed at Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. for non-medical, computer applications. MEI gave it to Tensor for medical applications, and a senior project manager at MEI is a co-founder of Tensor.
