Executive Summary
Orthopedic device maker Encore Medical agreed to buy Sweden's Cefar AB (electrical nerve and muscle stimulation) for $23.2mm in cash and stock. Creating what it is calling the largest ex-US electrotherapy company, Encore plans to merge Cefar with its Compex SA division (part of Compex Technologies).
