Executive Summary
Genetic analysis company Sequenom has launched a hostile takeover of Exact Sciences (cancer diagnostics). Sequenom's initial all-stock bid of $1.50 in Sequenom shares per Exact share (a 138% premium over Exact's trading average; valuing the deal at about $41mm) was immediately rejected by Exact's board of directors.
