Executive Summary
Public therapeutic device company Kinetic Concepts Inc. (KCI) has agreed to be taken private through a buy-out by funds advised by Apax Partners, affiliates of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board. The investors will pay $68.50 per share in cash (a 12% premium), valuing the deal at $6.3bn including debt.
