Executive Summary
Foundation Medicine Inc. (cancer diagnostics) netted $113mm through its initial public offering of 6.77mm common shares (including the overallotment) at $18. Proceeds from the closing were a substantial jump from what Foundation had expected--just two weeks prior, the company said it would sell 5mm shares for between $14-16.
