Executive Summary
NPS Pharmaceuticals (developing metabolic and CNS drugs) and Enzon (polyethylene glycol--PEG--delivery systems for specialty pharmaceuticals) will swap shares in a merger of equals that values Enzon at about $713mm. The new company plans to take advantage of Enzon's marketed products and infrastructure and NPS's research pipeline.
