This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Australia has published what is being billed as the "first systematic approach" to monitoring and addressing risk factor prevention related to cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD). A report published today by health advisory body, the Australian Institute for Health and Welfare (AIHW), provides details of a panorama that has resulted in these three conditions accounting for around a quarter of the burden of all disease and just under two-thirds of all deaths.
