Executive Summary
Canadian regulators have approved for sale Paradigm Medical Industries' fourth-generation ultrasound device for imaging conditions of the eye. The P60 Ultrasound BioMicroscope (UBM) allows practitioners to acquire and view high-resolution images of the eye's anterior segment, iris, retina, vitreous body, lens and other surrounding structures. Imaging of the anterior chamber angle is one of the principal areas studied in the detection and management of glaucoma pathologies and related surgical filtering, noted the Salt Lake City, Utah firm. Paradigm added that the UBM line is its largest generator of revenues, accounting for more than 25% of sales, and providing high gross margins.
