HealthSouth, the diagnostic imaging firm based in Birmingham, Alabama, has made more management changes (see Clinica No 1114, p 19). Robert May, former acting CEO, has been named chairman of the board. He succeeds Joel Gordon, the firm's largest individual shareholder, who served as interim chairman until the company's turnaround in the wake of accounting investigations (see Clinica No 1089, p 12). Charles Elson has also joined the board of directors, effective September 1. He has served as an advisor to the board's governance committee since January 2003.
