The Kappa 400 series is the first of a new generation of highly automated pacemakers and uses two integrated sensors - activity and minute ventilation - as a basis for the rate response. The activity sensor tracks low exertion activities, while the minute ventilation sensor increases heart rate at higher, sustained exertion levels.
