Up to 57% of asthma cases in Spain go undiagnosed, according to the Spanish Allergy and Clinical Immunology Society. Asthma affects some two million people in Spain and contributes to the deaths of around 1,200 every year but despite this, there is still no laboratory test to diagnose asthma. It is thought that 80% of all asthma cases are allergy-based, reports the Diario Medico.
