FASA Sec. 1555 cooperative purchasing program escapes repeal; ADAP funds not added to appropriations.
Executive Summary
FASA SEC. 1555 REPEAL PROVISION STRIPPED FROM SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS legislation (S 672/HR 1469) during the House/Senate conference on the bill May 20. Legislators instead decided to extend an existing moratorium on implementation of Sec. 1555 of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, which would establish a voluntary cooperative purchasing program granting state and local agencies access to federal prices on goods including pharmaceuticals. The moratorium is scheduled to last until the end of the current Congressional session.
