FDA EXPERT PANEL TO REVIEW CTFA AHA SUNBURN CELL TEST, FDA Office of Cosmetics and Colors Director John Bailey, PhD, said at the Dec. 16-17 meeting of the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel. The agency is "in the process now of convening experts within the various centers of FDA...to review the science" associated with the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association's alpha hydroxy acid sunburn cell test and "to decide what course of action would be appropriate within our responsibilities," Bailey said. FDA's Center for Toxicological Research will be part of the review team.
