Executive Summary
The newly formed US subsidiary of World Heart (implantable cardiovascular devices) has acquired Edwards' (products and services to treat late-stage cardiovascular disease) ventricular assist device operation Novacor (cardiac assist device) for $58mm of its preferred shares. The shares are exchangeable into approximately 24.9% of World Heart common shares.
